Group Fitness Team Raises More Than $50,000 for Charity

Lifestyle Family Fitness members and employees workout out for a good cause

Last year, Lifestyle Family Fitness’ group fitness teams, at more than 30 clubs, raised over $50,000 through cycling, dancing and fitness events to benefit local and national charities.

“Our group fitness team has such an incredible impact on our communities where we work and live,” says Kim Christine, Vice President of Group Fitness at Lifestyle Family Fitness.

Each club puts on themed events, in and out of the club, where instructors dress in costume, put up decorations and bring food to celebrate. The charity events are more like fitness parties for a good cause.

Some events last year included Zumba for a Cure and the Making Strides Walk benefiting breast cancer research, Ride Inside raising money for the American Cancer Society, Zumba for Autism, a Bowl-a-Thon for Big Brothers Big Sisters, cycling event for Cystic Fibrosis, group fitness military workouts for the Navy Seal Foundation, Toys for Tots and selling hearts for the American Heart Association.

“A lot of work and energy goes into these activities. Our members get excited to giveback because we make a significant impact on the people who are affected.” says Christine.

Lifestyle Family Fitness kicked off their charity events in 2012 with a three-hour outdoor cycle-thon benefiting Make-A-Wish at their Hyde Park grand re-opening event.

Getting fit really does pay off.
